Hi, I'm James Patterson — a lifelong resident of Weaverville, NC and the proud owner of Patterson Handyman Services. Born in Charlotte and raised here since 1990, I’ve spent nearly my entire life in this community, learning, building, and helping people with their home repairs and businesses.
With almost 20 years of carpentry experience, I bring a deep and versatile skill set to every project. I’ve worked hands-on with several general contractors across the Asheville area, gaining expertise in everything from framing and finish carpentry to drywall, paint, landscaping, and more. My years as the Maintenance and Facilities Manager at Wicked Weed Brewing sharpened my electrical and plumbing skills and ultimately inspired me to take the leap and start Patterson Handyman Services in July 2024.
Patterson Handyman Services specializes in carpentry services, minor electrical, and plumbing work. Whether it’s fixing a fence, completing a punch list, or tackling a tricky repair, I offer reliable, high-quality service with clear communication and a focus on safety. As a one-man operation, I’m best suited for small to mid-sized jobs — and I always ensure it's done right the first time.
My approach is simple: be honest, stay safe, show up on time, and treat every home as if it were my own. I truly enjoy meeting new people and building lasting relationships with my customers. Nothing makes me happier than solving a problem and giving someone peace of mind.
When I’m not working, I’m out enjoying the mountains with my partner Marjorie and our four dogs — hiking, kayaking, playing disc golf, or RV camping with family. I’m also active in the local community, helping maintain county parks through the WNC Disc Golf Association and lending a hand wherever my neighbors need it.
As I like to say — “I will die for those I love, but I’d prefer to fix whatever’s broken instead.” It’s a motto from my family crest, and it reminds me that care, loyalty, and integrity are at the heart of Patterson Handyman Services.
